Jason Thomas wins the Enduro and Endurocross races in Ste-Véronique, QC!

FMSQ Enduro, Endurocross & Extreme-cross: Ste-Véronique, QC, June 28th & 29th, 2008.

Last weekend was a very busy weekend for the Enduro riders. There were three events in Ste-Véronique; the Provincial Enduro Championship, the Provincial Enducross Championship and the Extreme-cross (Vegas style).

KTM riders had very amazing results in every event. After a trip to the USA last week to enter the GNCC race, the English rider Jason Thomas came back to Canada to participate to this busy weekend. For the Enduro race, Thomas
impressed again with his smooth and consistent riding as he crossed the finish line in first place on a very muddy track with his KTM 250 XC-F prepared by KTM dealership Woody’s Cycle for this event.

KTM Canada's Patrick Beaulé also had a very good race and finished in 4th place on his KTM 250 XC. The Extreme-cross was held on Saturday on
a closed circuit and only about 15 riders qualified for this event. KTM rider Michel Metcalfe got the Holeshot on his KTM 300 XC tied with Guy Giroux.

Patrick Beaulé came around the first lap in 3rd place. Metcalfe and Giroux battled hard all race for the first place and on the last lap they crashed into each other. Patrick who was riding close to them in 3rd place took this opportunity to pass them and he finished in 1st place.

Sunday, Jason Thomas won the Endurocross easily with a good advance on his KTM 250 XC-F prepared by KTM dealer Enduro KTM. Patrick Beaulé rode very well and also finished on the podium.


4 KTM ATV in the top 5 of the Enduro race in Ste-Véronique!

KTM dealer Moto des Ruisseaux rider, Bobby Desjardins had a very busy weekend as he participated at the Enduro race in Ste-Véronique and Sunday at the CMRC National in Tring Jonction where in finished 14th overall.

Saturday in the ATV Enduro race he rode a perfect race and passed the checker flag in first place followed by Amélie Lavallée from KTM dealership Grégoire Sport. Sonny Desjardins completed the podium by finishing in 3rd place. Jonathan Beaupré also with Grégoire Sport finished in the top 5.

In the Endurocross race Amélie Lavallée rode very well and finish on the second step of the podium. Sonny started the race 10 seconds behind due to a bad start but quickly moved up to 3rd position and crossed the finish line in the top 5.

Michael Leon and Éric Beauséjour finished 5 and 6 at round 2 of Canadian Superbike Championship!

Canadian Superbike Championship, Thunder Class: Round 2, Calgary, AB, June 27th, 28th & 29th, 2008.

Last weekend was the second round of the Canadian Superbike Championship at the Race City Motorsport Park in Calgary, AB. KTM Cycle Works Ltd. factory riders Michael Leon and Éric Beauséjour pushed their KTM 990 Superduke R really hard in qualification and they earned respectively the 5th and 6th position on the staring grid.

Leon's qualification time was only 3 seconds behind the first position. During the 16 lap race, both KTM riders defended their position and rode a smooth race. Michael Leon crossed the finish line in 5th place closely followed by his teammate Éric Beauséjour in 6th position.

KTM riders had great results in Raymond, AB!

Western Canadian Amateur Motorsports Championship: Raymond, AB, June 26th, 27th & 28th, 2008.

The 11th annual Western Canadian Amateur National Championships was held last weekend in Raymond, AB. The event took place on one of the toughest circuit in Canada, Temple Hill Motorcycle Park.

The KTM amateur riders had very good results in almost every class. One of the impressive riders was Trae Franklin on his KTM 85 SX prepared by KTM
dealer Trailblaz’n Power. Franklin had a perfect weekend by winning all three motos in the 85cc 12-16 class for a 1st  overall.

During the MX National weekend break, KTM dealership RTR Performance rider, Ryan Millar entered the event and really showed everybody was he is made of. He battled hard all weekend and had amazing results as he won a total of six motos. With all his wins, Millar earned two Intermediate titles (MX2/MX1) of the Championship with the help of his KTM 250 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F.

KTM riders performed well in CMRC MX Provincial

CMRC MX Ontario Provincial Series: RJ Motorsport track, Barrie, ON, June 28th, 2008.

The CMRC MX Ontario Provincial Series was at the RJ Motorsport track in Barrie, ON last weekend. The KTM amateur riders from KTM dealer Orange Motorsports performed very well. Richard Grey was riding in the 85cc
class and won both of his moto for a 1st place overall on his KTM 85 SX. He got the Holeshot in both moto, never looked back and crossed the finish line with a 20 second lead. Grey also won the Super Mini class.

In the Intermediate GP Class, Mitch McColl who was riding his first race since his shoulder injury finished in 6th place overall and he took the 5th place in the MX2 class.

Two top 10 finish in the Lites Class at Lakewood!

US Motocross Lites Series: Round 5, Lakewood, CO, June 28th, 2008.

The 5th round of the AMA National Motocross Championship Series kicked off at 6:00pm Saturday night for the first "under the lights" race in National Motocross history.

MDK KTM Factory Lites rider Martin Davalos started an impressive 5th place in Lites moto one, followed closely by his teammates Matt Goerke and Ryan Sipes holding 7th and 8th. With few laps remaining all eyes were on the KTM riders as Davalos had caught up to Sipes to pursue a battle for 8th. Davalos would hold on to secure 8th place.

Goerke certainly deserved a shout out after battling for a top five spot the majority of the moto eventually falling one spot shy to take 6th. Sipes finished 11th after losing a couple positions with a last lap mistake.

In the second moto, Davalos hold on to 2nd until a hard charging Ryan Villopoto got around him. Davalos slipped back to third but was still going strong when a bike problem on lap 10 put him out of the race. Goerke finished 10th, Sipes was one position in front of him in 9th while Brayton had put in an impressive ride from the back to finish 13th. Goerke and Sipes combined moto scores earned them both a top ten finish for the day.

Nick Wey in 7th position in the Series Standings!

US Motocross Series: Round 5, Lakewood, CO, June 28th, 2008.

MDK KTM Factory riders Nick Wey and Billy Laninovich got shut out on the start appearing 25th and 32nd respectively around the first turn. On lap 11, Wey moved into 16th coming within a bike length of Josh Hill whom he'd
been pacing the entire moto. Wey eventually finished 15th picking off one more rider before the checkers.

Motocross moto two went much better for the MDK KTM Factory ride of Wey as he started the moto closer to the front in 12th.

Wey stayed smooth and consistent throughout the moto to finish 10th.
